The Harmony Home Family Resource Center is a community-driven initiative built on the belief that strong family relationships are the foundation for well-being, healing and growth for every individual.
Our History
The Harmony Home was established by a passionate social service professional who, through years of working with children and families in various community-based roles, recognized a gap in family reunification services in West Louisville. In response, a community-driven initiative was launched to provide families with a safe and supportive space for visitation, mediation, and therapeutic services.

Acknowledging the trauma often experienced by families navigating separation, conflict, or court involvement, The Harmony Home was intentionally designed to feel warm, welcoming, and home-like. The Harmony Home distinguishes itself through a one-of-a-kind family visitation program set in a carefully designed space where families can engage in everyday activities that reflect real family routines and foster healthy parent-child interactions. Families can share mealtimes, play in the backyard, or prepare simple snacks together, such as assembling sandwiches or baking cookies with staff guidance. These experiences promote familiarity, stability, and comfort while prioritizing safety, helping both children and parents feel more at ease and supported during their time together. By offering opportunities not typically available in visitation settings, The Harmony Home enhances the visitation experience, creating a supportive environment that allows children and parents to focus on connection and relational growth.

Today, The Harmony Home stands as a critical and trusted resource, providing exceptional services to meet the evolving needs of families across the community. While visitation remains a core component, the center now provides a variety of supports designed to promote family stability, well-being, and growth. By combining guidance, resources, and a nurturing environment, The Harmony Home empowers families to overcome challenges, build stronger relationships, and create lasting, positive change in their lives.

Our mission is to strengthen families by providing holistic support services and resources that promote stability, well-being, and long-term growth for both parents and children.
We envision a community where families are empowered, supported, and equipped to thrive together—building resilience, connection, and the strength to overcome life’s challenges.
Our Approach
The trauma-informed care approach is deeply integrated into our services, as it emphasizes safety, empowerment, and a collaborative approach to healing. By applying trauma-informed principles to our programs, we are not just offering services, but also providing the foundation for families to heal, grow, and thrive together.
This approach supports our mission of creating lasting change by addressing
the root causes of challenges families face, ultimately leading to stronger,
more connected, and healthier families in our community.
